Are you a budding amateur photographer living in Carrick? If so, you could win up to £300 in gift cards by entering our Creative Carrick Photography competition

There are 4 categories and each category will have a 1st and 2nd place prize, along with an overall winner chosen from all 4 categories.

Submit your photos under one of the following category themes –

  • Bruce Country,” particularly for the upcoming celebration of the 750th anniversary of the birth of Robert the Bruce

  • Water & Wildlife” focusing on our environment, wildlife and coastline

  • My Favourite Place in Carrick”, sharing your favourite walks, businesses, or other bits of Carrick

  • Off the Beaten Track”, highlighting adventure, escape, and exploration


How to Enter – 

  • Send your photos and the category under which you are submitting them, along with your home postcode yo [email protected]


  • All entries must be received by close of competition on July 28th at 5 pm. Winners will be notified in the week commencing August 7th and an award ceremony will take place week commencing August 14th


Prizes –

  • Each category will have a 1st and 2nd place prize. Category 1st place prize is £100 in Scotland Loves Local gift cards. Category 2nd prize is £50 in Scotland Loves Local gift cards + a goodie bag

  • An overall winner will be selected from the four 1st prizes. The overall winner will win £300 in Scotland Loves Local gift cards

  • All winners will have the chance to exhibit their photos in public spaces in Carrick


Rules –

• This is a competition for local amateur photographers
• Open to any resident in Carrick who wishes to submit photographs
• Maximum 5 photos per entrant
• Entrants to this competition will retain full copyright of their work.
• Any images submitted, whether chosen as winning pictures or not, will be stored and
possibly used for publicity and promotional work to showcase Carrick now and in the
future, with full accreditation being given to the photographer.
• Images may appear on social media and in publications issued in line with such aims – if
you do not wish your images to be used in this way, please let the competition organisers
• Any images supplied and stored by entering this competition are specific to the publicity and
promotion of the Carrick area and must not be used by any individual, business, or
group to merchandise or monetise their activities or products, without the express written
consent of the photographer.
• Photographs should be a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for printing purposes
• Winners will be selected by a panel of local people set up by Go Girvan and NCCBC
