What’s On in Girvan this Easter

Planning a trip to Girvan this Easter? We have put together lots of ideas to help you make the most of your time here whether you are staying for a day, a weekend, or longer.

Easter Events

Girvan Community Garden is holding an Easter Fayre on Saturday 8th April from 1 pm – 5 pm with stalls, hot food, and a tasting session. Between 1 pm and 5 pm on Monday 10th April they are also running a free Easter Egg Hunt for all the family to enjoy.

Attractions & Activities

Kids will love burning off some steam in the adventure playpark by the boating pond. This year it is even bigger and better with a rope swing and zip slide. If the rain decides to make an appearance, pop into the Quay Zone instead where you will find a nautical-themed Play Zone and a swimming pool.

For some traditional seaside fun, pick up a bucket and spade at one of the local shops before heading down to Girvan Beach. If the sun is shining you might even want to roll up your trousers and go for a paddle. On the harbourfront, you will find 2 family-friendly amusement arcades with a variety of machines and games for all ages.

Biosphere Bikes are open Wednesday 4th – Sunday 9th April from 10 am – 5 pm (weather permitting!). They have a range of bikes, buggies and go-karts for hire, ideal for wheeling along the promenade. They also have beach wheelchairs available to allow those with mobility issues access to Girvan’s golden sands.

Add a little culture to your break with a trip to the McKechnie Institute. Dating back to 1889, the former library has been repurposed as a heritage museum and exhibition space. The current exhibition, Carrick Artists, 25 Years On, runs until 16th April and is free to visit.
