As part of our recent refurbishment of Girvan’s volunteer-run Tourist Information Point, TAG (Town Action Group) have created a litter picking station! Fully stocked with bin bags, bin bag holders, litter pickers, gloves and hi-viz vests, anyone in the area – visitor or local – is free to pop in and pick up some equipment to help clean up our beautiful landscape.
And if helping to do your part for our environment isn’t enough, there is now an added incentive to help #KeepGirvanTidy. For every person who picks a bag of rubbish from our streets or the beach, they will be rewarded with a free hot or cold drink and a snack as a big thank you from us all! All you need to do is simply tie up your bag and leave it next to any bin in the town, take a photo of it on your phone, and show it to one of our volunteers in the Tourist Information Point to claim your reward.
If we all play our part to help keep our environment clean and healthy, we’ll all reap the rewards in years to come.
The litter picking station is in the Tourist Information Point, in the Old Court Room, The Town House, 25 Knockcushan Street.
