Visit Girvan's Tourist Information Point for local recommendations and advice

For a warm welcome and a wealth of local knowledge, head to Girvan’s Tourist Information Point

Staffed by friendly volunteers, Girvan’s Tourist Information Point is located within The Town House on the picturesque harbourfront opposite the RNLI station.

You will find the entrance well-signposted at the side of the building next to Knockcushan Garden and Girvan’s Community Garden. Entry is via a ramp to make the Tourist Information Point as accessible as possible.

Inside you will find leaflets detailing lots of things to do in the surrounding area and beyond including local walking trails and attractions.

If you need more inspiration or detailed information, you can access our visitor tablet to search online or use our complimentary WiFi to search on your own devices.

We have a lovely seating area overlooking Knockcushan Garden where you can relax while you browse, along with a children’s activity corner to keep young ones entertained.

In addition, our local volunteer staff are always on hand and very happy to share their own recommendations, tips, and general Girvan knowledge. They can also assist with travel advice, provide directions and let you know about upcoming events (among many other things!).

We also have a selection of local arts, crafts, and books which make great souvenirs of your visit to Girvan or unique gifts to take home for family and friends.

Finally, our Tourist Information Point is home to our town litter picking station. Local volunteers regularly carry out clean-ups around Girvan’s streets and beaches and we welcome any visitors who would like to help us keep Girvan’s environment clean and tidy.

Our litter-picking equipment is free to borrow and the Tourist Information Point staff will reward you with a free cup of tea or coffee and a snack for every bag of rubbish you pick up as a thank you.

The Tourist Information Point is closed currently and will re-open on the 1st April 2024.
